After working at Fininvest Communications for institutional relations, he became a journalist for the Fininvest networks. He was a special correspondent in Brussels for Canale 5 and Rete 4.

In 1994, he was appointed as the first head of the Forza Italia press office, a role he held until 2001, when he was elected for the first time in Montecitorio, staying there for the following legislatures, until 2018.

Over these years, he also served as the communication manager for the Forza Italia parliamentary group, as vice president of the RAI supervisory committee (presidents Sergio Zavoli and Roberto Fico) and as a communications adviser to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, with a decree signed by the undersecretary Gianni Letta.
